The Journal (NOT A Diary!!) of C. Jay-Moore

The Journal (NOT A Diary!!) of C. Jay-Moore

C-Jay is the sadistic twelve year old little brother of B-Jay, a dungeon master with an online gaming group. He participates by playing all the monsters the players fight. They plan to meet in real life at a renaissance faire. The party consists of the DM B-Jay and his self insert Buddy the barbarian, Logan Quinn playing Draken the druid, Jake State playing Phantom the rogue, Lindsay Michaels playing Willoughby Whimsy the wizard, and Jennifer Waltz playing Marlin the cleric. They’re in their early twenties and juggling busy college life, using the game as a way to escape the stress of daily life. Their planned day trip quickly turns to chaos when the party is split and some are left behind while the others are transported to a fantastical world. They wind up embraced by the kindred. This world has worked out a system to match vampires with werewolves, to play their powers against each other and minimize the threat they pose to civilian life. It’s highly illegal to be independent and there is a global inquisitor force dedicated to maintaining this system.  C-Jay picked up journaling when his parents took him to therapy for his concerning antisocial behavior. The therapy didn’t do much for him, but he enjoyed having a private place to write out all his dark and twisted thoughts. It’s full of typos and poor grammar, like any child’s journal, and omits any events that might be a little too embarrassing to admit to. He wouldn’t want to read back any of the times that his brother made him cry or he floundered any major moments - better to pretend it never happened and embellish a bit to make himself sound more impressive than he might actually be. This journal is the player notes from a campaign using the (tweaked) Vampire the Masquerade system. Plenty of the events that unfolded happened outside of C-Jay’s line of site, or were simply too boring for him to bother covering. Follow along as he hones his blood craft and uses his powers for personal fulfillment - and evil, of course. Those go hand in hand. Cover art credit to @extraA_nocpno!

Hidden gem — exposure is the bottleneck

Readers who find this story follow it at a high rate; there just aren't enough of them. In our cohort data, near-daily posting lifted the odds of reaching 25 followers from ~0% to 17% — more chapters, shoutout swaps and ads buy the eyeballs this conversion deserves.

Benchmarks: 8,060 active Royal Road stories, percentiles within the 10–19 chapters band, cohort of 2026-07-02. Conversion is measured as followers gained per 1,000 views lifetime.
