All Magic Is Illusion (Apocalyptic Isekai Progression)

Misdirection is the soul of a performance, so All Magic Is Illusion  Rue Revill lived by that single truth.  He was just an isolated high schooler who spent his lonely life mastering sleight of hand, eventually creating a secret persona known as the Red Magician.  Beneath his quiet exterior lay a massive god complex used to mask his deep loneliness, driving him to commit petty thefts just to feel alive.  When a family disaster cornered him, Rue met a pathetic, miserable end, exactly as he expected. Death was not the final curtain.  Awakened in a bizarre world of crooked skyscrapers and apocalyptic ruins, Rue finds a brand new stage.  Stepping back into his red suit, the Red Magician rises once more to outsmart high ranking Hunters, outrun genius detectives, and manipulate the corrupt political schemes of a decaying empire.  In a high stakes game of cat and mouse, he turns every heist into an unforgettable performance. .... Author's Note:This novel was created purely for fun and entertainment.  I wrote this lighthearted project as a relaxed break after finishing my heavy magnum opus, so it starts out as total fun, chaotic slop before naturally evolving into a much more refined story in later chapters.  Please turn off your brain and enjoy the show! This story is a cat and mouse game.  A thief and a detective.  Inspired by Conan and Kaito Kid, by Moriarty and Holmes.  A phantom thief who performs impossible heists with nothing but cards, and a hunter who chases him across a city drowning in corruption. What to expect: - High stakes thefts that feel like performances- A relatable protagonist hiding loneliness behind a god complex- A well written dynamic between two people destined to become enemies- Rich worldbuilding and deep lore buried beneath the chaos- Fast paced progression for the main character  ....
