For one perfect evening, Elsewhere Inc. lets the very rich ride the body of their poorer self in a parallel world and do whatever they please — and promises that nothing comes home with them. The company doesn't mention that the person whose body they wore is awake for all of it. When Sam's uncle Terry comes back from a neighborhood bar wearing his own body wrong — having beaten the bartender with a bottle he doesn't remember picking up — a psychiatric record going back decades makes him the perfect alibi. No one believes an old man's account of a stranger driving his hands. Terry asks for the one free thing, to be believed, and Sam — a systems analyst who has never once been fooled — runs the numbers instead. But the numbers won't sit still. Behind the incident report, the courtesy, and the flawless paperwork is an account that does not reconcile, and Sam has never yet left an audit unfinished. Complete novel. Entire posting schedule pre-loaded. Updates Tuesdays and Fridays, accelerating to daily for the finale. This story will not be dropped.
