Celia Montegumrey is sent off to Sweedway to marry a man, Dante Banelskie. As Celia is rushed into this, she quickly learns that she will be queen sooner than she was expecting. As Celia tries to learn her new roles and love a man she has never met, she's faced with how terrible the world war is and how stressed Dante is becoming. As their wedding day nears, Celia is pushed to her limits to find herself, her husband, and this world war.
