Alexa Veland was on a routine final exercise when the sky tore open. Her aircraft didn't crash. It *crossed* — through a fold in the air, into a world that appears on no map. An empire guarded by colossal, sacred beasts. Seven kingdoms one spark from war. And a prophecy written before she was born.Alexa is a soldier. She knows how to survive. What she doesn't know is why this impossible world feels like something she lost long before she ever fell into it — or why the empire's oldest powers look at her as if they have been waiting. To get her people home, she'll have to fight for a throne that isn't hers. To survive, she'll have to become something she has no name for yet. And to understand what she truly is, she'll have to stop running from the war that has always been waging inside her.*Not every fall is an accident. Some worlds choose who enters them.*

Hidden gem — exposure is the bottleneck
Readers who find this story follow it at a high rate; there just aren't enough of them. In our cohort data, near-daily posting lifted the odds of reaching 25 followers from ~0% to 17% — more chapters, shoutout swaps and ads buy the eyeballs this conversion deserves.
Benchmarks: 8,060 active Royal Road stories, percentiles within the 2–4 chapters band, cohort of 2026-07-02. Conversion is measured as followers gained per 1,000 views lifetime.
