Kay has two bodies. One can survive a war. The other has to live with it. For five years, the emperor’s youngest daughter has fought in silver, turning grief into calculation and killing into work. Now the war is over. Her father is still missing, her mother is dying, and Kay has almost forgotten how to be a daughter. Then she is sent to Earth. Her twin sisters rule there. Their reports are forged, their skies are sealed, and three teams sent to investigate have vanished. Kay arrives in a stealth ship. Her own sister tears it out of the sky. The twins intend to dismantle everything their father built. They offer Kay a way out: surrender the family name and walk away. She refuses. As her siblings divide the empire, Kay must protect the people caught between them. Doing so will mean standing against the family she was raised to defend—and learning to endure the things her power has always let her shut out.
