by WeKillKaiju
We Kill Kaiju Ciro “Zero” Mancuso-Folsom killed a senator to protect his sister. The city called him an assassin. Saltwall called him useful. Now he’s inmate-pilot ZERO, locked inside a broken salvage mech named Low Saint and thrown onto the black-sand kill zone outside Meridian City, where life-sentenced convicts earn sentence credit by fighting kaiju for the public feed. Survive a sortie, get a few days off your sentence. Lose a limb, pay the repair debt. Level up, and the prison smiles while quietly recalculating how much more valuable you are alive and owned. Ciro only wants one thing: find out what happened to Luce, his missing sister, whose name keeps surfacing inside sealed medical contracts, civic infrastructure records, and the same corporate machinery that feeds prisoners into the wall. But Saltwall is more than a prison. It is a propaganda stage, a combat economy, and a research site built over the Substrate, the clean-energy miracle that made Meridian rich and drew the kaiju up from the deep. As Ciro, Low Saint, and the misfit pilots of Salt Choir fight their way through monsters, reward screens, legal traps, and buried ownership chains, one ugly truth becomes harder to hide: The kaiju are not the only things feeding on the city. Expect: cyberpunk mechs, prison LitRPG progression, kaiju combat, black humor, found crew, ugly upgrades, corrupt systems, and a broken frame that refuses to stay dead.

Both levers trail the field
Traffic and conversion are both below comparable stories. Cadence is the first lever — stories posting near-daily reached 25 followers 17% of the time; stories posting every few days almost never did. Get the flow going, then re-check conversion.
Benchmarks: 8,060 active Royal Road stories, percentiles within the 20–49 chapters band, cohort of 2026-07-02. Conversion is measured as followers gained per 1,000 views lifetime.
