by Kael Veyron
The world is ruled by bloodlines, ancient houses, and contracts that cannot be broken. Darvin has nothing—not the power of a great house, not an army, and certainly not a place among those who rule. But when he enters into a contract unlike anything the world has ever known, everything changes. The great houses begin to move. Kingdoms prepare for war. Ancient powers awaken. And Darvin soon discovers that the contract he made was never meant to be controlled. Some contracts grant power.Others demand a price. And one of them could change the world.
