Ethan's life is going down the drain. He's unemployed, in debt, with no real friends apart from the stray cat sometimes graces him with her presence. Caving is the one thing in his life that still brings him joy. It’s been his thing ever since he was a kid, and there's nowhere he feels more at home than  underground. So when an earthquake opens a new passage in a cave system he knows like the back of his hand, Ethan can't resist taking a peek. He gets stuck. He falls. From then on his life is turned totally upside down. Ethan wakes up and soon discovers three things. He wasn’t on Earth any more. Magic is real. Almost everything wants to kill him. Fortunately, he's found a group of adventurers willing to help. Unfortunately they’re a dysfunctional band, riddled with traumatic backstories and knee deep in their problems of their own. And poor Ethan seems to have landed himself right in the middle of them. An overly muscled wizard, an elf who thinks she sucks at magc and a healer that isn’t quite what she first seems. A through-trip: An underground journey that enters a cave system through one opening and exits through a completely different one.
