Erin doesn't remember losing his family. He remembers the coat someone else put around his shoulders. His father's eyes, never quite coming back from the forest. So he took the Vow — gave up every tie he had left — sworn to find out what's out there before it takes anyone else. He didn't expect Gwen. She's fire where he's shadow. Armor over a heart she's spent a lifetime protecting. Falling for her breaks every rule either of them has ever lived by. Neither of them stops. But the city they've sworn to protect is built on a lie older than both of them — a wall that isn't just keeping something out. A silence that was never an accident. And the deeper Erin digs, the more dangerous it becomes to be the person who loves him. A city with no memory of the world beyond its walls. A love neither of them was allowed to have. A truth that's been waiting behind a locked door since before either of them was born. The wall was never just a wall. And the silence was never an accident.
