Six months ago, Albert Fenn was the best Pulse player on his team, until the scouts walked past him and signed everyone else. Now he's running alone on a gym treadmill, listening to the sport he can't bring himself to quit through someone else's TV. Then an old rival offers him a spot on a team that doesn't deserve the word: two untrained kids, a warehouse with four fans, and a coach who looks like he's made of old leather. It's nothing like the world Albert lost. But it's a way back into the game. Pulse follows Albert, team captain Marcus, and the North-Row Lancers as they claw their way from a leaking-roof warehouse to the national stage. It then follows Leo Crane, Julian Voss, Marcus, Albert, and David Sterling, as they take on the World Championships.
