In a world where Riders are top within the military ranks, a young half-vampire half-human joins their ranks, by Bonding a dragon nobody has Bonded before. As she learns and trains, she ends up with a trainer named Kane, who turns out also to be a Hybrid of some sort. While she learns and trains, she learns very quickly that she is important to the cause of keeping the kingdom of Draevelon safe from harm, especially from enemies within the kingdom of Selithar. But she is also hunted and tormented just for being a Hybrid, and it becomes very clear very quickly she must accept her fate, and the fact that she has a fated mate, in order to remain safe.
