Oblivion, A Timeless Void

The sword stained with 'her' blood always dragged her back into the same dream. A field of forget-me-nots. A bed of broken snow. The nine-year-old her that never learned to forgive.  Yet Alcestis still yearned to fall asleep again every night.  There, she would meet her - the sun that shone within the haven of her dreams. Basking in her gentle embrace, she would shed every lash, every tear, every prayer whispered in a dark basement - all for the woman who had become her whole world. But what remains of a soul after everything is stripped away? Her resolve etched in blood, she leaves behind the only life she'd known, tracing the trail of her parents - heroes whose past posed more questions than it ever answered. Her path lit by the faint glow of Glacies, she stumbles upon the doorstep of her past, where only embers of hope were left behind... and where a lone flame sparks anew. Oblivion bloomed in the wake of her footsteps - a void where memories and dreams refuse to let the past disappear beneath the rubble of fallen kings and worlds. But on the edge of the void that bleeds into dreams, where the living brush against the bygone and everything is thrown away... ...What if she dared to dream once more?
