Lumberjack apologizes to the woman who is trying to kill him. He is seventeen, covered in scars, and all he wants is a quiet life and people who won't betray him. But the world he lives in has no room for that. Instead he gets scars, a noise in his head, and enemies who keep coming back. Each one hands him a piece of his own past, and each piece hurts more than the last. He thinks every bad thing is his fault, so he tries to fix it all. He never quits. Quitting would cost him his life and an entire empire. What to expect: • Dark fantasy with five empires ruled by Kings• A gentle hero who stays kind while paying a visible price• Weak to strong growth• Acid blood, blackouts, and pain• Found family with cracks in it• Enemies who keep coming back• A magical world that crosses into the ordinary one

Mid-pack, room on both levers
Traffic and conversion both sit mid-field for a story this size. Growth here compounds from consistency: steady cadence feeds traffic, and a sharper hook lifts what each view is worth.
Benchmarks: 8,060 active Royal Road stories, percentiles within the 20–49 chapters band, cohort of 2026-07-02. Conversion is measured as followers gained per 1,000 views over the recent window.
