Zack’s life plan was simple: work at the local game store, build top-tier trading card decks, and avoid real-world responsibilities at all costs. But when a spilled energy drink accidentally summons Lucifer, the Supreme Lord of the Underworld, into his living room, his peaceful slacker existence goes up in flames. Fortunately, Zack manages to bind the terrifying (and deeply arrogant) Archdemon to a cosmic contract by defeating her in a 14-0 game of digital car-soccer. To keep her from incinerating him, Zack uses his first wish to strip her of her demonic powers, trapping her in the frail, deeply uncoordinated body of a five-foot-two mall-goth. Lucy is furious. She is territorial. And she is completely utterly defenseless when the Heavenly Council and the Underworld Tribunal team up to assassinate them both for breaking cosmic law. To survive the impending holy war, Zack unlocks a LitRPG System of his own: The Grave-Tender's Ledger. It’s a powerful summoning class, but it comes with a catch. To cast spells and summon ethereal monsters, Zack has to permanently sacrifice his own physical belongings. Now, teaming up with his tank-main best friend, a hyper-competitive online healer, and his incredibly high-maintenance tsundere roommate, Zack has to fight off angelic hit squads and demonic bounty hunters. He just hopes he can save the world before he runs out of household appliances to sacrifice.

Both levers trail the field
Traffic and conversion are both below comparable stories. Cadence is the first lever — stories posting near-daily reached 25 followers 17% of the time; stories posting every few days almost never did. Get the flow going, then re-check conversion.
Benchmarks: 8,060 active Royal Road stories, percentiles within the 20–49 chapters band, cohort of 2026-07-02. Conversion is measured as followers gained per 1,000 views over the recent window.
