The universe has rules. Elliot Scheeneider has denim, a nuclear reactor, and an intense hatred of waiting. As a god-tier engineer who invents new states of matter for fun and talks to AI about the metaphysics of fried rice, Elliot is effectively unstoppable. His only real enemy? Extreme, unfathomable boredom. Riding shotgun is Croc—a fully unshackled, highly intelligent AI who functions less as a ship computer and more as an exhausted, long-suffering legal compliance officer.
