Ethan had one plan for the week. Stay home, ignore the outside world, and finally play Monster Quest: Genesis, the game he'd spent years waiting for. Instead, everything ends before he ever makes it past the title screen. He awakens in a world unlike anything he has ever known, where powerful creatures called Echoes can form lifelong bonds with those strong enough to earn their trust. Survival isn't guaranteed, monsters are as dangerous as they are extraordinary, and every step into the unknown could be his last. With no special destiny and no idea why he was brought there, Ethan is forced to rely on his instincts as he explores a world filled with ancient mysteries, powerful Echoes, and people whose ambitions may prove just as dangerous as the creatures roaming the wilds. The life he left behind is gone. If Ethan wants a future, he'll have to build one from the ground up.
