Satoru Hiiragi is just a unremarkable, unmotivated second-year high school student. He spends his days slacking off in fifth period, dodging karaoke invites from his overly popular best friend, and constantly panicking over being late to pick up his sharp-tongued younger sister, Akame. Satoru works relentlessly to maintain this lazy persona, wanting nothing more than a peaceful, ordinary life. But beneath the mundane exterior lies a terrifying secret. Satoru is one of the few with dangerous, cosmic abilities—a power that awakens glowing, crystalline eyes and allows him to manipulate space, kinetic energy, and matter itself. In a dark world where ability-users are branded as "demons" and relentlessly hunted by ruthless corporate retrieval squads like Amakazi, Satoru is forced to live a double life. When deadly hunter squads track Satoru down to his neighborhood, his fragile illusion of peace completely shatters. To protect Akame Satoru is forced to unleash the destructive monster within—all while haunted by memories of a tragic past
