The Essence Reaper Ritual

Balder was a good-hearted boy from The Cross. Unfortunately, destiny had other plans. A living sceptre named Dalila keeps returning to him whenever he is in danger. It protects him. It heals him. It drains life from his enemies. And it may be far more than a weapon. Far away, Samael, the Great Necromancer, rises again after a thousand years of silence. His vampire captains search for the Herald of prophecy, the only one who may stop him before Eternalia falls to undead hunger. Balder does not want glory. He does not want power. He does not even know how to fight. But he has Dalila. And soon he will have something even stranger: Herald’s Vanguard — a growing band of misfits, warriors, fools, criminals, paladins, clerics, mages, goblins, gnomes, and impossible friends who may be the only hope the living world has left. This is a dark fantasy adventure about friendship, sacrifice, ancient gods, undead armies, dangerous magic, and the terrible question at the heart of every legend: What if the weapon that saves the world is also the thing that should terrify it? Part of the Legends of Eternalia universe, a world of friendship, sacrifice, mythology, courage, dark dangers, and hope—spanning 4,000 years, from the Age of Gods to a cyberpunk future.AUTHOR'S NOTE:  The Essence Reaper Ritual began as one of my earliest Eternalia stories. This edition is a complete rewrite, rebuilt to fit the current canon and the wider mythology of Legends of Eternalia.
