The Free People of Gliese

978 years after human colonists land on Gliese, human beings, now known as regulators, use the powers granted to them by Gliese to free themselves from the taxes, fees, and fines owed to the nations and corporations of Earth that sent them into the Galaxy. Following a half-millennium of war and a near half-millennium of an unsteady peace, the nations of Gliese have established borders. One nation has colonized an entire continent and holds its borders by turning swords into plowshares, selling cheap resources, and maintaining a multi-layered draft. They are The Free People of Gliese.
