The road of the First is a lonely one.
Constantino Kazarov has been the first for as long as he can remember.
The first thaumaturge to ascend to Archmagus before his twenty-second birthday. The first to turn ash into a weapon capable of killing dragons. And, if everything goes according to plan, the first person in centuries to nearly assemble the legendary Crown of the First Sovereign.
Constantino would be perfectly happy hunting monsters and coming home with increasingly dangerous artifacts. Instead, he’s stuck in court politics. Raslan’s weapons are somehow ending up in enemy hands, and the king has decided Constantino is the man to find out why.
To make his day worse, the dragon heart starts talking.
Dragon Queen Maligstra was supposed to be dead. She died in Chapter One, mind you. He took her heart afterward because he needed it for the Crown, and until now it had done an admirable job of behaving like a dead dragon’s heart.
Apparently, keeping the heart intact also keeps the dragon’s soul around. Now the Dragon Queen wants her body back, Constantino still wants his Crown, and whatever is happening inside Raslan is starting to look like more than the usual noble nonsense.
Fine. Let’s kick these arrogant noble asses quickly so he can get back to the important things.
There are dragons to fight and titans to hunt.
