In a world where every awakened individual is born with one of five elemental powers, Riker possesses something completely different. Raised in secrecy by his aunt after the mysterious deaths of his father, he has learned to suppress his abilities and avoid drawing attention to himself. That changes when he intervenes to stop a classmate from being brutally attacked by one of the school's strongest awakened students. Although he manages to keep his true power hidden, the incident places him on the path to Oracle University, the world's premier academy for awakened warriors. As Riker faces the university's entrance examinations, he forms new friendships, encounters dangerous rivals, and begins to realize that his unique abilities may be connected to a forgotten chapter of history. While the world believes only five powers exist, fragments of the past suggest there was once a sixth. By the end of the trials, Riker earns his place at Oracle, but the questions surrounding his mysterious power have only just begun.
