The World Hunted Me After I Betrayed God

The world was ordinary—until darkness swallowed it whole. When the darkness vanished, a new faith remained. Preaching salvation through a god called Cathesin, a rapidly growing cult claims their powers were a divine miracle. Governments look away. People kneel. And those who question them disappear. For Mike, belief isn’t faith—it’s desperation. Orphaned at a young age and consumed by guilt, he becomes obsessed with the cult’s power, convinced that strength could have saved his family. When he is offered that power, the price is simple: his connections. One by one, he sacrifices them—until the final cost erases his elder brother from existence. Betrayed, broken, and barely alive, Mike escapes with power he never wanted and a vow he may not be able to keep: to end the cult of Cathesin, even as his own hatred and humanity fade away. Years later, his path collides with three others scarred by the same faith—a genius inventor and her sword-trained brother Together, they stand against a god that should not exist…and a truth far darker than any of them realize. Because some gods do not seek worship. They seek erasure.
