Every hero leaves behind a legend. Hunter Daichi Seren left behind a mystery. The world remembers him as the Rank 5 Hunter who sacrificed his life protecting his squad inside a Rift. His name is carved into memorials, his story taught to young Hunters, and his death accepted as the price of duty. Only his son refuses to believe the story is complete. When seventeen-year-old Kaito Seren inherits his father's journal, he discovers fragments of a truth hidden beneath years of silence. Guided by the words of a man who planned for a future he would never see, Kaito enrolls in Valdris Magic Academy, where the next generation of Hunters is forged. There he finds loyal friends, powerful rivals, and a strategist who will one day become the heart of his team. But while they train to conquer the ten deadly Rift Lords that threaten humanity, another enemy watches from the shadows—one who once fought beside Daichi. Some inherit power. Some inherit wealth. Kaito inherited a question that could shake the entire Hunter world. Who really killed Daichi Seren?
