Ryo was supposed to become a crab fisher. That’s what his family has always done. Stay on Saltwash Island. Catch crabs. Feed the village. Live a simple life. Instead, he made the mistake of saying yes to a talking fish. Now he’s meeting creatures everyone insists are monsters, climbing volcanoes because it seemed like a good idea at the time, collecting increasingly questionable souvenirs, and discovering that the world beyond the fog is far stranger than anyone on Saltwash ever imagined. As his level rises, so do the questions. Why do monsters seem kinder than people claim? Why was so little about the world explained to him? What waits beyond the islands everyone calls the mainland? And why does every impossible answer only lead to an even bigger mystery? Satori is a slow-burn progression fantasy filled with exploration, quiet humor, memorable characters, dangerous creatures that aren’t always dangerous, and a world that keeps getting larger the farther Ryo walks into it.

Both levers trail the field
Traffic and conversion are both below comparable stories. Cadence is the first lever — stories posting near-daily reached 25 followers 17% of the time; stories posting every few days almost never did. Get the flow going, then re-check conversion.
Benchmarks: 8,060 active Royal Road stories, percentiles within the 20–49 chapters band, cohort of 2026-07-02. Conversion is measured as followers gained per 1,000 views over the recent window.
