Thirty-seven years ago, a group of kids on bikes stopped a monster apocalypse from swallowing their small town and, with it, the rest of the world. By the time the sun came up, it had all been dismissed as a mass hallucination. The kids grew up. The monsters never stopped being real. Today, they've built ordinary lives as teachers, police officers, professors, counselors, scientists, and wandering drifters. But when the impossible slips through the cracks of everyday life, they're the ones who answer the call. Together, they stand between an unsuspecting world and the things that still go bump in the night. Sometimes the greatest heroes don't wear capes. Sometimes they grade papers, patrol lonely highways, solve impossible mysteries, or simply open their front door to someone who needs a safe place to belong.
