REGIONAL SURVEY OFFICE - RECORD OF DISCREPANCY
FILE No. 179997
Every map is wrong somewhere. Silas Rook learned that at his mother’s workbench. He was never supposed to prove it.
Silas is nineteen, a records clerk in a mountain valley, the boy who files other people’s adventures. Then a forty-year-old survey map shows a stream crossing the official record swears never existed. No strike-line. No revision note. The map didn’t drift.
Someone corrected it.
The same week, something begins stealing from the Survey House. Wire. Crystal dust. Mirror shards. A seating tool. Not vermin; vermin don’t keep a list.
The thread runs from a locked cabinet to the “ghost” that has haunted the village for fifteen years, then onward to a sealed mountain road nobody is allowed to walk. At the center of it waits a grieving Soul fox, standing guard over a dying stone, and an incident file that refuses to name its dead.
To save the fox, Silas will have to become the kind of Keeper the records say he can never be. And the deeper he digs, the clearer it becomes:
The map is not wrong by accident.
CLASSIFICATION:This is a character-first, slow-burn LitRPG and progression fantasy. Levels, stats, techniques, and team growth matter, but power is earned through training, trust, fieldwork, and difficult choices, not handed out by the system.
FIELD NOTES - WHAT TO EXPECT:- NOTE 01 - Companions choose their Keepers. They are never captured. - NOTE 02 - A mystery where paperwork is both the weapon and the wound. - NOTE 03 - Steady, earned progression. Stat sheets measure what Silas and his companions have achieved; they never grant growth on their own. - NOTE 04 - Found family, a village worth fighting for, and a battle to force the truth into the official record.- NOTE 05 - No harem. No instant power fantasy. Silas wins by noticing what everyone else ignores.
FILING STATUS:- RECORD: Book 1 complete: 45 chapters. Daily updates for Book 1,- RECORD: Book 2 complete: 46 chapters. Three Weekly Updates, Starting August 17th. - RECORD: Book 3 - In progress, with exciting news! I have an aspiring Copyeditor lined up, for editing and proofreading!

SUPPLEMENTAL REPORT - REGARDING FILE No. 179997COVER BY: Hacini Mohammed Marwan (FlynX)
CONTENT ADVISORY: Themes of grief, trauma, bereavement, and past off-page deaths.
AI USAGE: AI Assisted (See attached File 179997-1)
File: 179997-1A"So I want to be upfront with this. I live with the effects of a traumatic brain injury from my time in the Army during my deployment to Iraq, which can make grammar, spelling, sentence structure, and proofreading harder for me than they once were. To help with those areas, I use AI-assisted tools as part of my editing process.
I know some people have strong feelings about this, and I respect that. The story, prose, characters, worldbuilding, ideas, and creative decisions are my own. AI is used only to help me identify errors, improve clarity, and catch issues I might otherwise miss during editing and proofreading.
I hope you can understand. This was a choice I made to try to make the experience as positive for you as it was for me while writing it."
