A relaxing fishing trip turns into a nightmare when Mark and his three friends are shipwrecked on a mysterious island hidden from the world. At first, survival seems simple. Find food. Find shelter. Find a way home. But the island is far from abandoned. Something in the forest watches them. Voices call their names in the dark. Creatures that were once human now hunt anything that moves, while infected animals roam the wilderness. Every step deeper into the island uncovers another secret the outside world was never meant to discover. As hope begins to fade, one question remains: Will they escape the island... or become part of it?

Both levers trail the field
Traffic and conversion are both below comparable stories. Cadence is the first lever — stories posting near-daily reached 25 followers 17% of the time; stories posting every few days almost never did. Get the flow going, then re-check conversion.
Benchmarks: 8,060 active Royal Road stories, percentiles within the 5–9 chapters band, cohort of 2026-07-02. Conversion is measured as followers gained per 1,000 views lifetime.
