Stone Shaper [A Frontier LitRPG] Book 1: The First Foundation

Stone Shaper [A Frontier LitRPG] Book 1: The First Foundation

The System offered Martin Hale the main-character package. Destiny, meteoric growth, a starring role, the whole arc. He had listened to enough of those stories on the drive to work to know how they end. He said no. So the System got creative. Twenty years a nurse. Fifteen in emergency, five in acute psychiatry. Martin knows exactly what he is: the big, tired, competent man you want in the room when everything goes wrong, and nobody's idea of a hero. Integration finds him end of his shift, with everything already going wrong. What he gets instead of destiny is a sealed class nobody has ever walked, a profession the machine itself admits it does not understand, and a cohort of rescue professionals every bit as stubborn as he is. Two tanks. One very good dog. So he sets out to be what he has always been: the reason other people get to go home. Stone moves for him. The numbers climb. And the vast, patient machine that runs the universe keeps sliding contracts across the table, each one built precisely to his weaknesses, and keeps a file on what he does when he thinks nobody is watching. A frontier progression LitRPG about competence, salvage, and building something worth keeping. WHAT TO EXPECT An older lead. Forties, blue-collar professional competence, dry gallows humour, no angst about being too old for this. The universe checked. Rescue-crew fantasy, not a murder loop. Triage, extraction, collapsing tunnels, and holding the line so the medic can work. Hybrid tank and support progression. Ground control, body cultivation, structural magic with real physics. The build the meta hated, played by someone who knows why it wins. Hard-magic stone shaping. Conservation of mass is not optional, and every eruption sends the bill somewhere. A team that matters. Ten operators with distinct voices, and a German Shepherd on the roster as an operator, not a mascot. A System that never lies and always collects. Directed incentives, curated truth, and the slow question of what it is farming. No harem. No edgelord spiral. No teenage genius. Crunchy stat sheets, earned power, found family, and a machine wearing a bedside manner. PACING The opening arc forges the team before the ground gets real: the training, the trust, the playbook with the regrettable names. Everything built early gets spent later. If you like training arcs that pay off, you are home. STATUS Book One is plotted through to its ending, 234,000 words written, with the plotting running on into Book Two. Chapters post on a set schedule and the buffer stays ahead of the line. Comments and criticism actively wanted, especially on pacing and system mechanics.
