It starts with a sugarcane crisis. In an alternate 1970s United States where magic and supernatural beings coexist with humans, a guild wizard NOT a mage is assigned an unusual job contract: help four vampires survive a growing sugarcane crisis. But sugarcane is only the beginning. As the story moves from the 1970s into the present day, the crisis reveals connections between vampires, magic, agriculture, and other realms. What seemed like a simple shortage may be part of a much larger problem; and the people caught in the middle may be the ones who have to solve it. A story of magic, guild wizards, vampires, other realms. One crisis connecting them all.
