For the past few weeks, rock bottom had constantly surprised him. Owen Curio was a pilot. Then he was a fugitive. Now he's a man hiding out in a place he hates. Wanted by the Interplanetary Governance Council for treason, espionage, and a laundry list of crimes he may or may not have committed, he finds himself asking for help in places he never wanted to. When his communication system crackles to life with a voice he hasn't heard in five years, Owen is faced with a choice: turn himself in and face a maximum security prison—or accept help from the one person he swore he'd never drag down with him. Flavian Valus is offering him a way out. And because Owen has never been good at making smart decisions, he takes it. A great shitshow ensues.
