Clark Williams finished the webnovel at three in the morning and fell asleep at his desk. He woke up inside it, wearing the body of a boy the author never bothered to name. Dominic Eñeforte is Manaless. In a world where a farmer waters his fields with a flick of the wrist, that makes him furniture. The police ignore him, the mages bully him, and when the war finally comes, he is scheduled to die under some rubble so the real cast has something to feel bad about. Fine by Clark. He read this book. The hero is a monster with a harem that hits like artillery, and monsters do not need help from the kid in the back row. The plan is to stay furniture, dodge every flag, and find the road back to Earth before the plot notices him. Then his new mother cries, and Clark hears himself agreeing to enroll at Verdalis Academy. The System will not give him mana. It does not pretend otherwise. What it gives him is a stat sheet with one number cranked absurdly high, and [Instinct] casts nothing. It simply tells him where the blade will be, half a second before it gets there. The rest he has to buy: a soul contract with a demon bartender paid in dirty jobs, a pair of Aether pistols named after a rock band, and an army of shadow clones with terrible personalities who farm his stats while he sleeps. Verdalis puts him in Class 1-1, one seat from the hero, with the ice queen sitting directly behind him. So much for the back row. Who needs magic when you have a gun, a clone army, and a gut feeling that has never once been wrong? Crossposting on Wattpad and Scribblehub!
