Why pay for steel when dirt is free? In the high-tech slums of 2042 Chinatown, Singapore, twenty-one-year-old Ethan Tan is one automated bill away from homelessness. Desperate to fund his grandmother’s failing medical pod, he risks his last dollar on Bereshit Online—a hyper-realistic Bronze Age VRMMORPG where in-game Silver Shekels convert directly to real-world cash. Follow a fiercely pragmatic, stingy gold-farmer as he hacks ancient linguistic codes, exploits historical arbitrage, and turns the dirt beneath his heels into a real-world financial empire.
