Chronicle of Pactis

OPENING BEGINNING OF THE END ERA Throughout the era we now call the Age of Kings, empires, kingdoms, and dynasties rose like fresh shoots from the forest floor on the first day of Seed. Carried by the winds of fortune, some took root and flourished, while others withered, their banners as forgotten as the fallen leaves of winter. Kings raised arms against kings over heirs, borders, and beliefs. Great wars were fought, realms were shattered, and new crowns were forged from the metal of the old. Amid one such savage war, a conflict that threatened to tear the continent apart, a child was born on the day of the annual eclipse. His birth was given among an army of ancient warriors, carved from mountain ranges that no longer stood. His name would be Sumer. Thirteen eclipses passed before he ascended the volcanic mountain of the Heartland and united the fractured tribes and kingdoms beneath a single banner. With his army of stone, he conquered the Heartlands of Pactis, offering a simple choice to all who stood in his path. While lesser men sought riches and crowns for themselves, Sumer foresaw the corruption born of greed and power. In his final years, he established a Triarchy of three thrones, so that no single ruler might become tyrant, nor his empire fall to the ambition of one mind. From this sacred seed, the Triarchy spread across the continent. Its roots grew deep, as its armies marched not as destroyers, but as heralds of order and civilization. For six hundred eclipses, the Triarchy stood strong while the continent birthed machines and modern weaponry, yet the ultimatum remained unchanged: Stone or Wine  -The Chronicles of the continent of Pactis, High Scholar Tymor Estamus of the Pactis Academy of Historical Veracious Chronicles, 600 TE
