Death and the Fox

Death and the Fox is a fantasy adventure story centered on Kuzuno Zenko, a royal fox princess born without tails in a world where a fox’s tails determine their status, power, and destiny. Viewed as an anomaly by many of her own people, Kuzuno struggles to find her place within the Fox Realm. As a baby, Supreme Fox Goddess Inari descends from the heavens and declares that Kuzuno’s destiny will shape the future of the realms themselves. But before that destiny can unfold, Kuzuno is betrayed by her older sister Kayo and cast out of her homeland. Separated from her family and everything she has ever known, Kuzuno finds herself in the Human Realm, where she encounters Kuroyasha, a young warrior raised as a Hachiman. Together they uncover secrets that connect the Fox Realm, the Shinigami Realm, and the ancient history of the gods themselves. As war approaches and forgotten powers awaken, Kuzuno must decide whether she will become the savior foretold by the gods—or the force that reshapes the fate of every realm. Blending fantasy, mythology, action, romance, and family drama, Death and the Fox explore themes of belonging, destiny, sacrifice, forgiveness, and the bonds that connect people across worlds.
