Balanced High Toll Magic System: The Eight Arts (Life, Gravity, Decay, Ghost, Rock, Sea, Flame, and Storm) serve as the foundation of society, governed by the Law of Counters where each art is countered by a different art. Urban / High Fantasy Hybrid: Grand palaces meet neon lit nightclubs, as the culture of the empire undergoes a shift from the traditional medieval aesthetic to the Atlanta street style ushered in by the Lightning Kings, JKB and Viktor Brown over the past 30 years.
