Life hasn’t been particularly simple for Emmett Varnham. His family is… complicated, his Expression does not meet the expectations laid upon his shoulders, and he only barely gets along with one of his four siblings. Then there’s all the assassination attempts. Unfortunately, with his father deciding that all of his children would have to prove their worth if they want to be considered as potential heirs to the throne, his life is set to only get more complicated! Sent away to a city hanging on by a thread, he’s going to have to master his Expression, grow his power, personal, political and financial, and prove that he does have what it takes to be considered a Varnham. He better, because the only alternative is death.
