A standalone-friendly spin-off of The Broadcast, told by the funniest, most literal mind in the universe. Sarge is an autistic healthcare analyst who thinks in Lego, reads the true structure under any system, and has exactly one friend. When Chris logs a signal in his home lab that should not exist, Sarge is the one man on Earth who can look at insane and check whether the math holds. The math holds. Then Chris walks into a locked room and does not walk out, the world files it under breakdown, and Sarge, the only person holding both the disappearance and the reason, starts to build the impossible machine that will find him. Book One of Signal to Noise. The Broadcast, from the outside, looking in, one brick at a time.
