Years after the Battle of Hogwarts, the wizarding world enjoys a fragile peace. Hermione Granger, now Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, leads a groundbreaking collaboration between the Ministry of Magic and Muggle scientists to study mysterious weak points in reality known as "thinnies." During an experimental demonstration led by American astrophysicist Dr. Katherine Coe, a catastrophic malfunction tears open a portal between dimensions. An unnatural mist pours through, spreading across London, Diagon Alley, and eventually Hogwarts itself. Within the fog lurk terrifying creatures immune to conventional magic—tentacled predators, monstrous insects, and other eldritch horrors that hunt anyone who ventures too far from safety. As panic spreads, Harry Potter is called out of semi-retirement to coordinate the response while Ron, Ginny, Neville, Luna, and other familiar faces work to protect students and civilians trapped by the growing threat. Amid the chaos, Marvolaine Rookwood, a fanatical pure-blood supremacist, exploits the crisis to gain followers, claiming the mist is punishment for cooperation with Muggles. Her rise threatens to divide the wizarding world at the moment it most needs unity. Meanwhile, in another reality, survivors from a small Maine town—including artist David Drayton, Ollie Weeks, and a teenage girl named Dana—are battling the same mist. When they cross through the portal into the wizarding world, Dana begins exhibiting unexplained magical abilities, creating new challenges for both worlds. As the fog tightens its grip and hope fades, Hermione and Dr. Coe discover that the only way to stop the invasion is to close the portal from within the Mist dimension. Harry, Hermione, Ron, Ginny, Draco Malfoy, Luna, Neville, and their unlikely allies embark on a dangerous mission into a nightmarish realm where fear itself has become a weapon. In a battle that will test loyalty, courage, and sacrifice, wizards and Muggles must stand together to save both worlds—or lose them forever.
