The kingdom has eight princes. Most people can only remember seven. As the youngest prince, he has spent his life overlooked. While his brothers attend royal banquets, study under famous tutors, and prepare for their futures, he wanders the edges of the kingdom where no one thinks to look for him. There, beyond the castle walls, he finds an unlikely friend in the ancient forest that borders the realm. Then the forest turns violent. Roots tear through roads. Trees block the sun. Entire villages flee as the woods spread across the land. Knights are sent to destroy it. Mages try to curse it. Priests declare it a punishment from the heavens. But the forgotten prince notices something no one else does. The forest isn't attacking. It's warning them. As a dark threat rises beneath the kingdom, one capable of destroying everything in its path, the prince must uncover the truth before fear drives the kingdom to destroy its only ally. Yet convincing people is difficult when they can barely remember he exists. In a world where monsters are misunderstood and heroes are overlooked, one forgotten prince may be the only person willing to listen.
