Tokyo Ghoul AU -- Red Children

At the start of Re, Kaneki has retreated into himself, his brain malforming into a compromise of grief and pain--Haise Sasaki. Through his time working for the CCG, he would eventually give in to his original self, and the city would be plunged into chaos, only for Ken Kaneki, the legendary One-Eyed King, to lead the oppressed Ghouls and the preyd on humans into a peaceful restoration together. At least, that's what should have happened. A virus spreads over Tokyo, and its well-known inhabitants, human and ghoul, must come to terms with its upending crisis. With so many alliances and enemies, and so many sides to so many issues plaguing this feral city, can enough unite to save their city? Or will they fall, defiled by their own emotional paralysis?
