Chasing the Shadow

The Choice is coming.  As the Lore Keeper of knowledge, Lord Meether struggles to find facts to help his Phoenix granddaughter.  But information simply isn’t there to be had.  At least not where it should be.  — So, the search outside Lore Valley begins.  For Ihllaea, this means her legitimate Journey—while also racing to find the information they need for the Phoenix before the Choice can blindside her.  Coming from odd places, she finds puzzling information—a bonded group of Four, known as the Children of the Aealonn; the Phoenix, the Protector, the Guide, and…the Redeemer?  No one knows what this role is, much less who it might be.  They’re still missing vital knowledge. During their quest, Lirrin’s past becomes a stumbling block to his role in the Choice.  While facing brutal memories, an unexpected ally comes to them as a name and a whisper, from the depths of Darcaen—and under the nose of their enemy. Then the threat of plague becomes real as Keeoc’s diabolical experimentations realize their potential, bringing Lirrin’s secret to the brink of exposure. The chase is on, to find even shadows of the information they need to give the Phoenix as her Choice looms. A Choice they’re beginning to realize is far more complex than anyone suspected. And Ihllaea still doesn’t know her own truth.
