A beautiful tsundere demon princess who’s used to getting her way. A mad sorcerer who isn’t quite as dead as the world hoped. A magical impossibility cast on Liam in the cradle that he didn’t know about until his twenty-first name day. Yeah, Liam’s had better weeks. The mad sorcerer slammed two worlds together long ago, igniting the Demon Wars. Battles raged, cities burned, but all of that happened before Liam was born. All he wanted was to live a quiet life at the edge of the Scar where two worlds collided long ago. All he wanted was to spend time with Andrea, the baron’s daughter. The only price? Traveling into the Felwood to slay the occasional minor demon infestation for the baron so they didn’t have to call in the Inquisition. He had no idea the Sorcerer himself had visited him the night Isai burned around him and his parents died, or that the madman cast an impossible spell turning Liam into an experiment in the impossible: a man with two mana cores. His simple life is about to be upended as a routine trip into the Felwood to do a bit of demon slaying turns into meeting a beautiful demoness who shouldn’t be there claiming to be a princess, running from a feral garzeth who wants to turn them into a meal, and gaining more Ascensions in his cores at midnight on his Name Day than anyone ever has before. That’s right. Cores. Plural. One arcane and one infernal. Which should be impossible. As impossible as the infamous sorcerer Albert, the madman long thought dead who started all this madness, suddenly returning from beyond the grave as Liam’s fluffy but deadly cat familiar. As impossible as a beautiful demon claiming to be a high princess looking at him like she isn’t sure she wants to kiss him or kill him. Yeah, Liam’s got problems. What to expect: A slow burn monoromance between Liam and a mildly tsundere demon princess who’s very used to getting her way. NO HAREM Progression! Liam is an impossibility in a fantasy world made up of two worlds thrust together by magic and a mad sorcerer. He has two mana cores he’ll need to learn how to use properly if he wants to live! An MC who wins the day by being a fundamentally decent, accepting, but unyielding person in a world where he’s surrounded by schemers and assholes. A sardonic and snarky cat familiar who’s the reincarnation of the greatest and most infamous sorcerer who ever lived. Advantageous Start: Liam starts out more powerful than other people who reach their Ascension on their name day, but he isn’t an OPMC. Yet. The potential is there. Fight the Power: There are entrenched power structures. Our hero is going to subvert them and fight them. Cold War: Our hero will end up building his own settlement literally on a spot between two worlds that serves neither, and naturally that’s going to make a lot of people on either side of a simmering conflict upset. City/Civilization Building and Conquering: This will eventually show up as part of building that settlement, it’s right there in the title, but won’t really pick up until book 2. Updates Monday through Friday for now. Will eventually slow to M-W-F, but not until most of book 1 is posted. Oh yeah. Book 1 is almost done.
