Theories assert that information is never destroyed when objects slip into a black hole. It is digested, pulled apart, molecule by molecule in the act of "spaghettification," and retained somehow within the interior of the celestial beast. So it was believed when the exploration ship Cygnus, piloted by Captain Hans Reinhardt, slipped into the guts of the black hole V616 Monocerotis. But now, signal is running hot and loud, back to Earth, heralding the return of Cygnus and, far worse, the ship is not empty...and its inhabitant wants answers.
