The object was small enough to fit in my palm, yet it felt impossibly heavy, as if it carried the weight of an entire world. Its surface was smooth metal, but it pulsed with a faint red glow that moved like a heartbeat—slow, steady, alive. Strange symbols were etched across it, shifting subtly as if they were rewriting themselves every time I blinked. When I tilted it, the glow brightened, casting thin red lines across my skin like cracks of light trying to escape. The metal was warm, almost too warm, as though it had just been pulled from the center of a star. And beneath the warmth, I felt something else. A presence. A whisper. A pull. It wasn’t just an object. It was a reminder. A warning. A piece of Voralix that had followed me home.
