Theo built game systems for a living. Now he's trapped inside one. After losing his job at Monster Games, Theo doesn't get a second chance—he gets a truck, a flash of light, and a one-way ticket to a kingdom that summoned four heroes to save it. The system awards them each a weapon: War-Hammer, Coronet, and Chain. Theo gets a black tablet device called the Aughtmark that the Royal Guard can't identify and no divine sponsorship to go with it. He can work with that. Probably. What he can't work with: a dead noble, a frame job, and exile from the only city that knows his name. Stripped of allies and cut off from the kingdom's resources, Theo has to grind his way across a land that wants him dead—using a backend system none of the other heroes know exists. He spent his career building the exploit. Time to run it.
