Nobody remembers the dead. Not because they are forgotten. Because they are erased. Twenty-two-year-old Elias Voss works as a junior archivist inside the Archive, an ancient institution that records every human life ever lived. One night he discovers a hidden shelf containing books that should not exist. Books filled with lives that history itself has deleted. When Elias opens one, he inherits fragments of another person's memories, skills, fears, and unfinished regrets. The more forgotten lives he borrows, the stronger he becomes. A swordsman who died before inventing a fighting style. A queen erased from every history book. A criminal whose existence was removed by the gods themselves. But every borrowed life leaves a mark. Soon Elias learns a terrifying truth: Someone is actively rewriting reality. Entire kingdoms are disappearing overnight. People wake up with memories of worlds that never existed. And somewhere beyond the edges of history, a being known only as The Editor is preparing to erase humanity's future. To stop it, Elias must collect the stories of those who were forgotten and uncover the secret hidden at the center of existence itself. Because stories do not merely record reality. They create it.
