Christmas Cake

Japan, 2008.Every week, Misaki carries the heavy grocery bags home along the familiar, quiet streets of Nerima. Every year, as December draws to a close, she makes sure to bring home a small, perfect Christmas cake for her aging mother. To the neighbors in her apartment building, Misaki is the definition of piety, a devoted, saintly daughter who patiently cares for a frail woman who can no longer leave her room. They offer her their sympathies, praise her grace, and admire her endless endurance. They remember how difficult her mother used to be.Misaki is a very good girl. And she has everything perfectly under control.Tales of a Wonderful World presents:Christmas Cake  クリスマスケーキ
