Centuries after the conquest of Pactis, the ancient stone warriors of the Triarchy still stand as monuments to the empire of three kings, which once seemed eternal. Yet beneath the statues, the empire has been rotting. Industrialization has widened the divide between rich and poor, the drug Magga floods the streets of the Capital, and warlord factions gather strength on the frontiers. Meanwhile, the eastern faith of Pranna spreads among the common people offering hope in the form some call “a god”. As a hidden war for power is being fought, Theron of the age 13 finds himself sent on his ´making´a traditional voyage of five eclipses away from home.
