For five hundred years the Kingdom of Mana and Cultivation has ruled humanity unchallenged — mages in the East, cultivators in the West, a conquered south worked by serfs, and a great wall in the north holding back the undead. Then the portals open. Sixty billion Orcs spill out of a hundred breaches at once, world-eaters who have stripped countless realms bare. Within days the capitals burn, kings fall, and the proud diarchy is reduced to a handful of besieged cities clawing at survival — while in the frozen tundra, the last liches of a near-extinct order wage their own desperate war. But the Orcs haven't come to conquer. They've come hunting. Far out in the southern sea, a magicless fisherman named Zalius has stumbled onto the legacy of a murdered genius: Zren — a power with no limits, no meridians, no ceiling, feared even by the Heavenly Demon himself. It grows by the second. And every soul on every side wants it dead. One peasant. Infinite power. Enemy of everyone.
